"Study Finds That Online Education Beats the Classroom" by Steve Lohr at bits.blogs.nytimes.com comments on the research study by SRI sponsored by the Dept of Education titled Evaluation of Evidence-Based Practices in Online Learning: A Meta-Analysis and Review of Online Learning Studies. The study's abstract states that "the meta-analysis found that, on average, students in online learning conditions performed better than those receiving face-to-face instruction."
